Personal Training

Once reserved for the rich and famous, personal training has now become a mainstream phenomenon. Personal training allows you the client to have your very own fitness instructor providing you exclusively with all your training needs. Before any personal training can take place each client receives an in depth assessment which takes account of the clients statistics e.g. height, weight, body fat and exercise history. The assessment records your current fitness levels as well as establishing your exercise preferences and personal workout goals.

Also medical screening and exercise history, it makes records of your current fitness levels as well as establishing the clients exercise preferences and the client’s goals are also set at this stage.

Personal training evaluation establishes the client’s desires and needs, while also determining the individuals current physical profile and capabilities, therefore allowing the personal trainer to develop a framework to their client to move safely through from points A to B. Once a framework has been established the personal trainer sets out to create the workout plans. The workout plans aims to achieve the client’s goals in a very safe and controlled environment. Each personal training session is designed to be unique to the next. Each session aims to challenge the body in a different way to the previous workout, therefore giving the body a shock element that maximises the training effect.

Personal training is very much what it says it is "personal" each session for each client is unique and tailored for his or her personal needs. Every training plan takes the SMART principle in to consideration.

Specific:
This means the workout is specific and exclusive to the individual client.

Measured:
All of the client’s statistics are recorded and dated, mapping the individual’s progress from point A to B.

Accurate:
All measurements are carefully recorded with zero variance; all workout plans are prepared to the utmost detail.

Realistic:
This variable relates to the goal setting stage of the evaluation process, realistic goals must be set for the client¸ the client must understand the goals set. If the goals set are not achievable and fully understood by the client, he/she may become disillusioned and confused by the whole process.

Timed:
It is important for both the personal trainer and the client that a proper time framework is put in place to achieve their goals in order to give proper structure to the workout plans and aid with the motivation of the client.

The personal trainer is on hand to ensure that every fine detail of the training process is present and correct. For example, the personal trainer will ensure perfect posture and breathing technique as well the correct lifting and lowering tempos are being applied for weight training. The trainer is there to ensure appropriate cardiovascular workouts are set and conducted with maximum output ensuring that the client maintains their training hart rate zone. The personal trainer is there to aid you in every aspect of you training requirements from motivation and encouragement to nutritional information and education on the body’s response to exercise.
